He has shared the stage with some of the country’s top musical exports\, his lap steel guitar a quintessential feature within his performances and creative output\, channelling his love for Americana and blues. His style is further rooted in his “alternative folk” songwriting\, heavily influenced by his finger-picking technique from training as a classical guitarist at the Stellenbosch Conservatorium. Hugo Veldsman and his band have captured audiences with soft-worded songs of hope and meaning to rompin’\, stompin’ blues straight out of a Mississippi bayou. \nNick Knightshade  \nFrontman of Cape Town’s Dukes of Note\, Nick Knightshade will open the evening with his captivating signature blend of Balkan rhythms\, gipsy punk\, vintage blues and swing with good old-fashioned rock ‘n’ roll – an eccentric blend of dark yet playful theatrics. \nSeating is limited and allocated on a first-come\, first-served basis. Over time\, Laubscher has developed his own distinct musical style and is widely recognised as one of South Africa’s top guitarists\, alongside renowned artists like Dan Patlansky and Albert Frost. His guitar skills are often compared to legends such as Stevie Ray Vaughan\, Jimi Hendrix and Rory Gallagher\, with some calling him the “Rory Gallagher of South Africa”. ” Known for his humility\, Laubscher lets his guitar do the talking. \nJeandre Swanepoel  \nKnown for his success in rock bands such as De Wallen\, Die Kraaines\, and Dead Lucky\, Jeandre Swanepoel infuses his songs with genuine emotion\, drawing inspiration from the rich history of rock music. This results in emotionally charged performances that leave an impression on the audience.
