Basson Laubscher & The Violent Free Peace

Basson Laubscher, a SAMA-nominated artist from Stellenbosch, gained early fame as one of the founding members of the popular alternative Afrikaans band Zinkplaat in the early 2000s. Over time, Laubscher has developed his own distinct musical style and is widely recognised as one of South Africa’s top guitarists, alongside renowned artists like Dan Patlansky and Albert Frost. His guitar skills are often compared to legends such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix and Rory Gallagher, with some calling him the “Rory Gallagher of South Africa”. ” Known for his humility, Laubscher lets his guitar do the talking.

Jeandre Swanepoel

Known for his success in rock bands such as De Wallen, Die Kraaines, and Dead Lucky, Jeandre Swanepoel infuses his songs with genuine emotion, drawing inspiration from the rich history of rock music. This results in emotionally charged performances that leave an impression on the audience. His music creates a sound that is both compelling and thought-provoking by skilfully fusing the raw energy of rock with the reflective storytelling of folk.
